Here are some resources I value, do I agree with all of what everyone here has to say? Nah but there’s some definite juice here so I reckon they’re worth sharing

Doco series covering indigenous people around the world who are practising skin marking as a way to connect to their culture. So good oi. I paid to watch via Vimeo, had to change my VPN for this. If you’re not able to pay let me know if you want my password to access these.

Gabor Maté is a boss, all of his books are lit. He writes in a really informative, honest, personal and accessible way (imo), weaving what he’s learnt working in the western medical system with his own lived experience. His documentary is great place to start if you’re curious.

Online film archive of indigenous films from many eras and lands, all free to watch which is amaze

Kind of stoopid and kind of amazing ? idk

Thoraya films strangers answering her varying questions, I love this kinda shit ngl

I’ve tried following a bunch of different online yoga teachers but Kassandra is the only person I actually rate. She instructs in a clear and informative way, generally I really like the language she uses and I’ve enjoyed majority of her sequences. She has a huge video library via YT that she offers for free which is awesome.

Absofruitly lit af recipe blog. I came across Sylvia because I was looking for a Malaysian laksa recipe, everything I’ve made from here has been truly delicious.

Not sure how to best summarise Ismatu- she’s definitely tapped and I love listening to her talk about the myriad of things that she does. She describes herself as a cultural worker among other things.

Podcast re philosophers throughout time; Stephens episodes in the early days are kinda awkward and cute and hard to listen to sometimes but all in all his dedication to sharing these many big ideas in a relatively accessible way I think is sick. Pretty bro centric ngl but that doesn’t negate how juicy some of this stuff is. Haven’t reached for this in many years but still rate it.

So many abundant and beautiful, thought provoking conversations found here. Prentis has such a curious and gentle way of facilitating, I really love listening to them explore ideas. There is one person interviewed who I’m currently a bit suss about, I actually regarded their specific ep as one of my favs before I came across some controversial info about them so ye just a ps.

Low key obsessed with Jungian stuff to be real. These guys hold conversations navigating different ideas of Jung’s and I find having 3 unfolding perspectives to be really helpful in engaging with the concepts. I don’t resonate with all of the language they use but Joseph is always fire and his voice is sooooo nice to listen to. At the end of each episode too they interpret the symbolism in a listeners dream which is juicy as.

Justin is a psychotherapist who’s primarily grounded in Polyvagal theory. He teaches what he’s learnt in his practice in a way that is really clear and accessible. This is a great resource if you’re wanting to learn about nervous system body trauma stuff from a practical lense.

These are my favourite woo woo resources

When I was 14 I came across a written reading of my birth chart mum had done just after I was born, I didn’t know anything about astrology and was totally in awe of how in tune it was with how I understood myself at that time. I’ve been engaging on and off with practices of a similar nature ever since and have found my relationship with these frameworks to be instrumental to who I am today.

Most resources out there are srs bs, a lot of generalised and reductive takes on the archetypes these practices engage with. There seems to be a prevalent culture of projecting ideas on to what is found in the irl world, but if you just note and observe, the world will show you how these energies actually present when embodied. When it comes to astrology I think it’s worth avoiding any kind of predictive or diagnostic lense until you’ve really developed your own practiced relationship with these ideas.

When it comes to working with Tarot, there’s no right or wrong way which can make it pretty intimidating in the beginning and why it’s important to find an interpretation resource you really resonate with. I find one of the most fruitful ways to engage with the cards is to work with them to guide self reflection and inquiry, rather than using them predictively which can lead to weird deterministic brain spaces. I have so much more to say about all of the above but I’ll save it for another time.

Below are some voices who I feel do a really awesome job at translating these ideas in a way that is specific, open and maintains nuance.

Kirah hosts multi person conversations with a range of practicing astrologers. Her series on the planets, signs and houses are really in depth and some of the best I’ve heard- highly recommend them for anyone wanting to gain some context to these ideas.

Ngl I personally really love Chris Brennans dry af almost clinical way of talking about astrology. He’s not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea but if you can handle his tone he is such an incredible wealth of information and is highly regarded in the global astro community. His episodes are super dense so best to listen once you have a solid foundation of understanding.

Anna is one of my absolute favs, such a knowledgable, generous and passionate person. She does weekly readings where she weaves the tarot archetypes together as she pulls a card with each new day. You can listen to her card readings independently of this though which is how I engage with her work, particularly because she has awesome reversal interpretations. She’s also christian, maybe that’s a deal breaker for some of you idk

Ali is one of the baddest out there, srs boss level nrg. She does monthly and weekly forecast readings for each of the zodiac signs. I hadn’t engaged with forecasting until I was introduced to her and now she’s my ride or die because she is tapped af no doubt about it. I listen to her on and off, mostly when I feel a bit lonely probs because she really provides that being seen feeling. Big fan. Love all her animals and that she used to be truck driver.

Little Red Tarot is an interpretation site, one that frames things in quite an open and encouraging way which can be hard to come by tbh so we love it for this. They don’t do reversal readings ps.

This website claims there are irl people behind it but it’s giving AI vibes in my opinion. Regardless I’ve found it to be really helpful with interpretations as it gives awesome reversal readings and examples of how the symbolism can change in different contexts.

Live in Melbourne?

Here are some Aboriginal run orgs worth considering imo if you have the means to redistribute some of your monies. I moved to aus knowing literally nothing about Aboriginal people, cultures and resistance. Although I still feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface, with what I do now know these feel like good people/places to direct your extra funds. If you have any other orgs that you really rate pls let me know and I’ll add them below- all relevant information you can find on their websites.
